First up:
Hayley Conway (Team Leader)
Hayley is a senior Civil Engineering major and the Team Leader for the 2023 ASCE Concrete Canoe team, specializing in the mix design. She has experience with civil/site having worked for the Port Authority of NY&NJ in the WTCC/MCP department, and participated in TCNJ’s M.U.S.E research program this past summer. Hayley is the current President of ASCE as well as Chi Epsilon civil engineering honor society at TCNJ, and is also a member of Tau Beta Pi, Theta Tau, and the Varsity Track & Field team. Additionally, she works as a facilities tour guide for the school of engineering and as a representative with the Office of Student Involvement.
Rachel Hannah (Team Member):
Rachel Hannah is excited to be a part of the 2023 ASCE Concrete Canoe Competition team. Her role on team is to work with Hayley on the mix design as well as the fabrication and competition itself. Rachel has had site/civil experience at Van Note-Harvey Associates and geotechnical engineering experience at NJDOT. She is an active part of TCNJ; She is captain of TCNJ Women's Swim & Dive team as well as Vice President of Chi Epsilon. Additionally, she is a member of the Student Athlete Advisory Commitee (SAAC), ASCE, and Tau Beta Pi.
Kevin Christensen (Team Member)
Kevin Christensen is a civil engineering major at the College of New Jersey who is primarily focused on the hull design and structural analysis of the project. Kevin is a captain of both the Men's Cross Country and Track and Field teams at The College of New Jersey. For the past two summers, Kevin has interned at Dewberry as a highway engineer developing hands on experience and other practical knowledge commonly used in the industry. Kevin is capable of comprehending and applying new skills and techniques necessary for the completion of an efficient canoe design. Kevin plans on returning to Dewberry as an entry level Highway Engineer after graduation.
Zach Hauptman (Team Member)
Zachary Hauptman is a Civil Engineering major at The College of New Jersey who is primarily working on the hull design of the project.
Zach has experience in construction management working with Whiting-Turner over the summer of 2021 and design engineering working with
WSP over the summer of 2022 on the highway engineering team, gathering valuable experience in the civil engineering industry.
Zach is the current president of Tau Beta Pi (the engineering honor society), the current vice president of ASCE, and the current
marshal of Chi Epsilon. Zach plans on returning to WSP as an entry level highway engineer following graduation.
